"This is what has been presented to me—that we are asleep and do not know the time of our visitation." 21LtMs, Lt 54, 1906, par. 13
Any Seventh-day Adventist church member is aware that we are currently experiencing a sifting and shaking process. Many claim to be part of the remnant and profess belief in the Spirit of Prophecy, yet they often quote her writings out of context. The extent of these deceptions is so vast that they are nearly impossible to recognize without a deeper understanding of Ellen G. White’s 70-year ministry.
We often speak of the shaking and sifting process as if it were a minor issue, but we must recognize that this is a matter of eternal life or death. It deeply grieves the heart of Jesus when any of us are lost due to deception stemming from ignorance.
We take this matter very seriously and firmly believe that millions within the church are at risk of being misled due to a lack of understanding regarding these critical doctrinal points, which have been misinterpreted or misapplied.
The Advent Awakening Institute provides a unique collection of statements on topics that are rarely addressed in a comprehensive manner, aiming to support anyone seeking a deeper understanding of these vital subjects.
How It All Began
The journey of collecting these statements began in 2018 when I became aware of the significance of the year 1888 in our denominational history. After reading several books by various ministers and laypeople on the subject, I was surprised to discover differing conclusions about what truly transpired in Minneapolis and its aftermath. That’s when I decided to explore the events and their consequences from the perspective of the testimony of Jesus. I began reading all of Ellen G. White’s manuscripts and letters, starting in 1886.
As I worked through this material, I realized that other topics were of great interest to me as well. So, I started creating folders and collecting statements under each title, carefully paying attention to the context. By August 2024, I had read through all the letters and manuscripts from 1886 to 1915, when Sister White passed away. I have since returned to the materials written from 1844, with the intention of reading everything through to 1885.
As of the publishing of this website in November 2024, I am currently reading materials from the year 1868. As a result, the collections available for download on this website will cover the years 1886–1915 and 1844–1868. By God’s grace, I will continue to update the documents monthly as I progress in my reading.
About Us
This ministry supports the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Brother Thami Ndebele, the founding director, is a layman in the KwaZulu-Natal Free State Conference in South Africa. He currently serves as the Adventist Men’s Ministries director for the Mkhanyakude district. In addition, he translated The Great Controversy into Ndebele, one of the main languages spoken in Zimbabwe as well as all the promotional materials and website copy on the Great Cotroversy Project website, in collaboration with the General Conference Publishing Department and the West Zimbabwe Union Conference.
We have several projects that we are prayerfully considering for 2025. Please visit our Projects page if you would like to partner with us as we look to hasten the Lord’s second coming.
